The unemployment rate defined by ILO definition was 3.7% in the third quarter of 2011 that is 0.7 percentage points less than in the same quarter of 2010. The national unemployment rate decreased from 5.9% in the third quarter of 2010 to 5.8% in the current quarter. As regards ILO unemployment, the unemployment rate for women decreased by 0.3 percentage points to 3.9% and decreased for men by 1.1 percentage points to 3.5%. Persons aged 15 to 24, persons with compulsory education as highest level of education achieved and persons with foreign citizenship continue to be most affected by unemployment. The long-term unemployment rate was 0.9% (same quarter 2010: 1.1%).
