Rail accidents
The number of significant accidents went down from 94 in the preceding year to 80 in the year 2010. 12 accidents (2009: 28) were associated with the transport of dangerous goods. During 9 (2009: 24) of these accidents dangerous goods were released.
There were more serious injury accidents in 2010 with a total of 51 (2009: 65) persons seriously injured and 30 persons killed (2009: 36).
