Demography

Demographic analyses provide information about the demographical structure (age, sex, marital status, nationality) of the population. Those so-called demographic characteristics are not only of interest for general population analyses – for example the age distribution, but are also used for analyses of the social and economical structure (labour participation grouped by sex, age, etc.) of the population.

For the Register-based Labour Market Statistics, the following attributes are generated:

• age (on the reference date, calculated from the date of birth)
• sex
• nationality

Planned extensions:

• country of birth

The data sources used as well as the processes applied for generating those attributes are identical to the planned methods for the Register-Based Census 2011.
